You’re more than a photograph – New Poem, from A Forgotten Summer

Looking at the way to remember people, whether it be a memory or a physical photograph.

‘You’re more than a photograph’

You’re more than a photograph
A memory you are
A living photograph in the memory
Replayed over and over

A photograph can be shown
A memory cannot
Even if described in the best and heartfelt way

It is only your eyes or the eyes of others who were there
Know what you saw that day, at that moment

You’re more than a photograph
You are a thought, a feeling
A human, a so so beautiful person

It’s more than you see in the photograph
More than a lifetime trying to explain
Some memories are kept for a good reason
As are some photographs
To remember the building of a life
& never to forget the people we love.
